- After a tumultuous semester, a few friends and I headed out to the Adirondacks for a 3-day, 2-night canoeing/camping trip (that being my first of either). Out of all the photos we took, this one reminds me most of the pressure the water had on us; after day-long treks, that feeling stays with you as you sleep. At this moment, we had already canoed for about a day and a half, and had just finished lunch—smoked salmon, which we ate on a rock in the middle of a lake. Not only were we blessed with good weather, but I also managed not to capsize—dirty yes, but dry.
