- I'm in the middle of two (ack!) tight deadlines, so today's post is a brief one, I'm afraid. But I do have for you one perfectly beautiful drawing by Kay Nielsen, for the fairy tale The Twelve Dancing Princesses. Nielsen was (along with Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac and others) one of the reasons I became an illustrator — as a child I was lucky enough to be given anthologies of Nielsen's artwork for fairy tales and children's classics, and the haunting quality of his work has stayed with me ever since. You can see more of Nielsen's work here.
