- Several years ago Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu of the renowned architectural firm Neri & Hu wanted to create a unique space in their home city of Shanghai — one where designers and architects from all over the world could meet to discuss architecture, industrial and interior design. In 2012 their idea became a reality with the creation of The Design Republic Commune, located in a gently renovated former police station built by the British in the 1910s. Comprised of the Design Republic's flagship store, a gallery, a meeting room, cafeteria, restaurant, bar and an apartment/hotel, it's a fantastic environment to foster creative thinking. Love.
