Wanting to escape city apartment living, freelance journalist and cookbook author Hélène Wagn dreamed of a fisherman's cottage — somewhere by the sea and forest, where she could settle with her teenage son Lauritz. Eventually she found one (with a lovely patio as well), but discovered after buying it that it was in worse shape than she realized. Happily, Hélène embraced this as an opportunity, and working with an architect and stylist friend, redid the layout from scratch. The result is a peaceful space with a strong Zen influence — the perfect retreat from the noise of the city. More here on Bolig Magasinet.
