- A chance reading of an ad for the sale of an abandoned 18th century villa in Algarve, Portugal plus a longing for home led Paris-based Portuguese interior designer Juan Trindade and his wife Sylvie Perrin to impulsively take on what became a major renovation. The original exterior was carefully preserved, while the interior ended up being completely gutted as it was in such poor shape. Simply furnished inside, space and light are the most important elements, set off by traditional tiles, artwork and a large collection of miniature designer chairs. Peaceful and flooded with natural light, this lovely second home is a tranquil retreat from the bustle of city life. More here on Côté Maison.
