- An ability to see potential in even the most unpromising of spaces was definitely an advantage for London-based artist Francis Upritchard — eight years ago when she first viewed the charming three-story council flat in the Hackney district she now shares with her husband, furniture designer Martino Gamper, it housed eight students and was, she says candidly, "filthy." With help from her brother and sister, she ripped out everything she could and started over. And after meeting and later marrying Martino, the interior has really come together. Just like the neighborhood, which is slowly going from dodgy to arty. I love their inspired use of colour and vintage pieces — just wonderful. More here at T Magazine.
