- A 1630s Amsterdam coffee warehouse from the Dutch Golden Age is now the loft-style apartment of Texas-born Hunter Hindman and Shelby Carr. Respecting the beauty of the original architecture, few structural additions were made after they bought it — the exceptions were a new floor, the half wall in the top-floor bedroom and deciding to whitewash the brickwork. But the beams supporting the gallery were left in their original state, as were the paint-splattered iron railings (left over from the previous owner, an artist who used it as a studio). A new kitchen, mid-century modern pieces and contemporary Dutch design complete the look of this new loft with an old history. More here on Dwell.
