- While on holiday in Morocco to celebrate her birthday, London-born Emma Wilson was so enchanted with the sun, the sea, olive groves and villages with simple white houses, that when she came across an old abandoned riad in Essaouira on a whim she purchased it in one day. It was the beginning of a long love affair with this corner of paradise — Emma now has now completed three riad restorations, which she rents out for holidays. This enabled her to build a new house for herself and her family in the small village of Sidi Kaouki two years ago — one that blends the architecture of a traditional riad with a 1960s modern sensibility. Tranquil and playful, Emma's home is the perfect retreat from the distractions of city life. More here on Côté Maison.
