- Something a little different for you today — the atmospheric Italian apartment of fashion photographer and artist Alice Alexander, restored by interior designer Michela Curetti. Inspired by the paintings of Vermeer, this lovely space is on the second floor of an aristocratic palace of Mondovi, painstakingly brought back to life with the careful removal of layers of paint to reveal frescoes from the 15th and 16th centuries. As the apartment is rather dark (the windows are small and few), a palette of warm colours was chosen, highlighted with delicate pinks, sage and sky blue. Furniture was kept to a minimum, with antique and modern mixed freely. The result is a rich environment that is also inviting — Alice says that she finds her home has a serene and powerful energy.
