A Divine Home
  • What was once a former church in the centre of Cape Town, South Africa, is now the secondary residence of Samuel and Danilo Benevelli, an Italian couple who commissioned architect Perry Harrison-Hyde to renovate the space for them. Abandoned by the clergy in 1960, the church had in turn become a dance studio, a woodworking shop and then a photo studio before the Benevellis discovered it. Entranced with the space, they asked Harrison-Hyde to encorporate the original features of the church into the renovation. The result is a serene and monastic space, where old Gothic windows flood with light an interior furnished with modern designs and contemporary South African art. Read more (in French) here.
