- Living in Copenhagen, Denmark, Lea Bawnager used to make frequent drives to Sweden with friends to explore her beloved Swedish flea markets. After the birth of Elliot, her son, she and her husband Vayu decided to move to Sweden permanently, eventually settling in Skåne. Almost all the furniture in their home was purchased at flea markets in the area, with many of their favorite pieces dating from the 1950s through to the 70's — with an emphasis on lots of cheerful colour to contrast with the white walls and floors. Since many of her finds are inexpensive, Lea is comfortable painting pieces that are worn or in a colour she doesn't care for. Lea's hobby has now become her career, too — she recently decided to combine work and pleasure, opening her own shop back in Copenhagen. There, the Danes can now benefit from her wonderful Swedish flea market finds. More photos of Lea and Vayu's home here, too. Via Hus & Hem.
